Drawing from a recently inherited family photographic archive, this work began with a technical malfunction during the digitisation process. Horizontal grey bands produced by a faulty scanner became a generative starting point for a series of drawings based on ID portraits.

Using lines to reconstruct faces and silhouettes, the work moves between photographic and drawn image-making, exploring how familial relationships can be traced, inherited, and remembered. Through acts of translation and reconstruction, If you’re lost i’m right behind, cos we walk the same line considers questions of kinship, support, and (be)longing, treating the family archive as a medium for making where memory is continually and repetitively redrawn.
